IGMP Snooping stopped working?

I’ve recently noticed that multicasts seem to be delivered to my PC even though they’re not being requested.

A quick look at my dashboard shows that they’re being delivered to a lot of devices, again which won’t have requested them.

Has there been a regression in this regard?

Thanks

Hello Andy, we are not aware of any regressions with IGMP snooping. Which switches are you seeing this with?

I have identified a regression in IGMP snooping on the S8 and S16 switches that I am working to fix. Thank you for reporting the issue.

Excellent. Happy to deploy test firmware to validate if it helps.

I have reported a similar issue in the past (with fragmented packets being the cause). I sent some packet captures that were added to your test suite I believe. Is there any reason this wasn’t caught in testing?

I can provide further captures if required.

Thanks

In this case, the issue was not caused by fragmented packets. It was due to an unintended interaction between IGMP snooping and recent changes made to reduce CPU usage in high broadcast/multicast networks.

Ok.

Any idea when we can expect a fix?

Thanks

Please invite me or Corbin to your site and we can install a release candidate version that should resolve the issue until the next production release is available.
