After receiving an IDS notification and went to further investigate the IDS / IPS section, and I got to say its severly lacking more “in depth” investigation about the IDS notification that are commonplace in most other firewalls vendors. This system is very basic, is there any plans to introduce more updates to this category?
yes, but it is to be expected, The route10 not a NextGen Firewall, it is a router with firewall capabilities and basic IDS / IPS features. Not sure if we will ever see an advanced IDS / IPS on the Route10, however we might see some improvements in IDS / IPS as long and Alta Labs continues to invest their time in adding more features and improving the existing ones. There is no Route10 ver. 2 on the horizon, which is a good, thing, as the hardware is still capable and should stay actively supported for the next few years.
