Just got it today and was playing around with it. Installed a new modem later in the evening and thought I was having activation issues so I factory reset the Route10 in the process of troubleshooting.
Now its kinda in a loop of initially going through setup fine, saying there is a firmware update( 1.3j to 1.3k) and then giving a error saying it can’t get the update. During this time, all the GUI icons are grey and no temp is displayed. After power cycling it now just shows up as disconnected in manage.alta.inc .
It did the disconnect message once before earlier in the day after I moved it from office to rack so it was power cycled then. Now its not updating and acting weird.
The WAN port is blinking as expected and according to Unifi(sorry, backup router for now) is pulling a IP address.
The biggest thing to make sure of, is that your UniFi router is NOT handing out a 192.168.1.xxx address to Route10. You may need to create a new VLAN temporarily if the tis the case.
Thanks. I doubled checked and unifi is giving out a 192.168.4.x
I just tried factory resetting again and was having similar issues until I switched the WAN1 profile(?) from WAN14dac to WAN1 on port 1. Now it updated fine so I don’t know what was happening.
Can you reset the unit, delete it from your site, and then plug in the WAN1 to the ISP uplink? Don’t keep the intermediate unifi router in place, just swap fully across to the Route10.
Visit 192.168.1.1 from a client laptop or workstation plugged directly into LAN1 on the Route10 and follow the setup wizard. You should end up online from there, and this is where we would like to pause and confirm that things are working up to this point.
After confirming you have internet access on the wired client device through the new Route10 configuration, please visit your site in the management interface and click the Setup button now.
Confirm again that you are still online and that the Route10 is running the 1.3k firmware before you begin adding other devices to the network. This ensures that there is no potential overlap with other devices that may conflict with the Route10.
Try to connect the rest of your network in segmented parts, perhaps 1 switch at a time for example. We are trying to determine if anything on your network is conflicting with the Route10, so wait a few minutes and even up to an hour between trying new connections in order to reduce the complexity added to the network at any one time. This will help diagnose whether the issue comes from a specific part of your network, as a conflict should arise and then resolve just as easily as unplugging a cable for a few minutes.
Once we have gotten this far, if everything is still working as expected, then we should be fairly certain that you can continue adjusting other network settings.
Thanks. I went through all the steps and its staying online now and was able to update.
As long as I don’t make any changes to VLAN1 it works fine. Even if I switch to a /23 or make it 192.168.4.1 subnet it starts giving out a 169 address on LAN1 to my computer.
