Help with AP6 network instability on portable devices

Hello Alta Forum,

I recently set up my Alta labs suite of equipment consisting of a Route 10, 8 port switch, and one AP6.

The setup and configuration of the network compared to my old equipment was a breeze upon setting up, I have one desktop PC connected via ethernet, and the rest of my devices are wireless. The wireless devices are connected through 2.4gz and 5gz networks depending on the category. I plan to segment my IOT devices further on my network by tossing them all in a VLAN. But I am having trouble reaching stability with my current wireless AP configuration. I am experiencing the following symptoms on my iPhone and other wireless devices from time to time:

  • Network drop offs without a notice or wireless connection going away (i.e. “[network] is no longer connected to the internet”)
  • Internet pages and apps on wireless devices loading halfway, or not loading at all despite being connected with full strength, and fast speed test
  • IOT devices (i.e. Ring Door Bell) will randomly drop network connection despite connection strength and speed
  • Iphone facetime while connected provides a ‘connection unstable’ message to my peer
  • Web pages taking a long time to load at odd hours with minimal network usage.
Here are my network settings configured with my AP. If anyone has any recommendations to share or similar stories on their setup, I would love to know.

It might be worthwhile to create a new site with everything set as close to default as possible and move the equipment over to it to see if the problems continue. Just to eliminate any potential variables. Maybe even keep it to just one SSID (everything still set to defaults) just to keep everything as simple as possible.
