Help with Access Point plan for new home build

I am building a new house and planning to use Alta Labs APs for my network. I am good on all of my other hardware (router, switch, etc.). Any suggestions on best placement for my APs given my floor plan. I’m adding pics of my 1st & 2nd floor plan. There is also a 3rd floor that has apprx. 500 sq feet with a bedroom and full bath. The house is a standard rectangle shape with studs and drywall construction.
The 1st floor is ~1600 sq ft.
The 2nd floor is ~1800 sq ft
The 3rd floor is ~500 sq ft

I was thinking the following:
1 AP6 on 1st floor near back of house to cover rear porch as well
1 AP6 on 2nd floor maybe in central hallway
1 AP wall or ceiling unit on 3rd floor

Key questions:

  1. Recommendations on placement of POE+ APs and how many - is my initial thought above OK or is there a better approach?
  2. Will 1 AP per floor be enough or too much - especially on the 2nd floor given it is 1800 sq ft?
  3. Will an AP on the first floor near the back of the house create a need to have one on the front half as well to cover the front rooms and the garage?

Thanks for any input on this.

In a typical residential home, you can expect roughly 1500 sq ft of coverage from an AP6-Pro. There is some margin of error depending on walls, obstructions and spectrum availability in your area.

I would recommend to grab a WiFi Analyzer app and set up an AP in roughly the location you want to mount it. Scan with the app to search for dead zones and consider whether you really need to get stronger wifi in that corner or not. Once satisfied, I would then take the AP to the next floor and repeat the process until I feel confident that the APs could live in those rooms.

I am probably assuming that you already have the home networked, so moving the AP from room to room would be trivial. If you have to carry it around on a really long cable, note that your realistic limit is going to be about 250-300 ft in length.
