I have a “Gear” icon on my Route10 under the Network Tab
Is this a notification for action on my parts ? Thanks.

It’s probably only indicating that you can reach the device settings through it.
Thanks, but most of the youtube videos that I’ve seen with Route10 under the Network tab does not have this. Am i missing some set up steps ?
My best bet is that there has been another update to the Control(manage.alta.inc), though it has not been announced with release notes yet.
I believe it’s a part of this change:
I am uncomfortable with changes being made to the production “manage.alta.inc” without a maintenance window being stated, and release notes being published. It seems to be changed quite often just when it is convenient. Can we please get a published release window and release notes for what is being changed?
Local controller hardware and VMs are obviously different since those can be set to not auto update.
Thank you everyone for your insights. Much appreciated.
It’s a new icon so older YT videos does not show this icon, and you have most certainly not missed a step.
That note probably relates to updates within the device settings and relations to port settings. And, I’m pretty sure it showed up a day or two after the latest release notes appeared, hence, the following comment by @rutman286
Thank you, once again for clarifying this.
The lack of rigor and documentation of the cloud environment was one of the key reasons we have decided to pass on alta labs after evaluating. Having features “just appear” without release notes or even an indication of what or why simply is not a very good business practice for an enterprise tool and not something we felt comfortable with for customer sites. This is maybe OK for small home installs. It is a shame, as I consider this low hanging fruit, good habits of well defined releases, release notes that actually document what and how changes are implemented should be the norm, not a few words that really do not explain the change. Missing documentation was also an item we noted. I hope the team will take some constructive advice and start to build habits and processes that are expected when folks are using your products in an enterprise environment.
I’m slowly starting to agree. It wasn’t so bad when it was just the AP and switches and there were barely any features, but now it’s becoming a little bit frustrating. Don’t get me wrong, the tooltips in the controller UI are nice, but a good example is Flow Control. What is the default? There’s no explanation anywhere.
