This appears to be related to the DHCP lease for the device. It should disappear from the list once the DHCP lease expires. I believe Alta is also working on making sure the devices get flagged correctly as “offline” when they are disconnected, and offline devices can then be filtered out of the list.
Yeah I saw that other thread on it, but I’m not using Route10 at all, and my DHCP leases are 24 hours. This specific device I’m looking at has been offline since Dec 2.
Some yes, some no. On the devices where I’ve modified the name or icon, if I click the trash icon it deletes my customizations but the device will then still show up in the list of disconnected devices. I hit the trash icon again and I’m in the loop where it goes away, refresh the page it comes back.
Are they devices that recently connected? I had this before as well and they wouldnt drop off until the lease time expired. Didnt matter how many times I tried to forget the device it would just pop back up.
Try to check back in 24 hours since they were disconnected and see if they go away.
No, the device I’m testing this with hasn’t been online since December 2 and their DHCP lease is only 24 hours. Additionally, I’m not using a Route10 in my setup.
I can replicate this here with Brave Beta on Windows 11, but I’m not sure the expectations. I don’t think it’s platform or browser specific, I think it’s actually by design currently. I’m guessing with your mention of 2 months, you’re looking at one of the extended filter views?
If I delete a recent client STA that is offline in Live view, and refresh, it does not come back until it actually reconnects. But that same client STA returns if I switch to one of the longer view profiles. Also say in 2 month view, if I delete an offline client STA, then refresh, it returns. So different behaviour between live and longer filtered views.
For long term data, it seems expected, or how it works based on design. However, I will ask about that to make sure that really IS expected and follow up.
So, this is how it is by design. Deleting a client STA will show for live clients, and they will not re-appear until they really re-connect. But for historical views the client STA will return until the actual data in that view has expired (whether it’s 1 day or 2 months).
