I am using a mesh layout on a large property and everything is working well except for my furthest out AP. It’s bridging to an AP a considerable distance longer away than the nearest AP in the network for some reason. To be specific, it’s bridging to an AP it sees at -91 but when doing a scan from it, it sees the closer AP at -61. Is there any way to force it to connect to the closer AP instead of hanging on to the weaker connection?
If you reboot the offending AP, does it link up with a closer parent?
It does not, unfortunately. And now it’s happening to another AP, too, which is causing a significant performance degredation in that area.
I’m comfortable in the CLI if there’s a way to force it to pick a different AP…I’ve been testing performance back to “home base” with iperf3
