I normally have the LED lights on the AP switched off, I have the APs set to broadcast regardless of an internet connection - my thinking being that local cameras that record to my NAS will still work even if something happens to the FTTP line (ours has been cut twice by local farmers trimming hedges). Whilst I understand I would get a message about connectivity loss on my phone it would be good if the APs also could flash the LEDs to show connectivity loss as well.
