Fine tuning and Best Practices

I just finished migrating from eero to Alta labs
I had 3 Eero pro 6e, 1 eero Pro 6, 1 eero pro POE. Only the eero pro 6 was wireless.

Now I have 3 AP pro 6 hardwired. There is one at the central location on each floor. I created a new SSID and majority of my devices are using the new SSID. I just have to migrate 2-3 devices that were still using Alta Lab APs but they are using my original SSID with the same password.

When I look at the devices in the app I have about a dozen devices that show weak signal. Some of them are in my garage. This is where I had eero pro6 wireless.

In my basement I have two Apple TVs not very far from the AP pro6 but they show weak signal. This AP is sitting on a window ledge. It is the central location with Ethernet.

I completed the migration this morning and old eero system is turned.

My new APs have two SSIDs as I have not migrated a couple of devices. Do these two networks interfere with each other?

Will my AP continue to optimize in their own?

Should I add an AP 6 or AP pro 6 in mt garage area? . It has Tesla charger, Lucod Air, Rachio controller, MyQ smart garage openers, MyQ video key pad. These devices are working but show weak signal. Will the future AP7 help? None of these devices use WiFi 7

My basement is 2000 square ft. AP is in the middle. This location has Ethernet. I am not sure how to improve WiFi in adjoining rooms.

In main floor the AP Pro6 has 36 devices connected to it. Some non name devices show a weak signal. I do have have Ethernet on the front right of my home as well left back of my home. Is have two access points diagonally opposite location better than one central location.

Thanks for any suggestions that can optimize WiFi performance.

Iā€™d try focusing on one band at a time per access point. Temporarily disable your 5ghz band to see if your coverage, or device(s) strength changes.

Grab your phone and install a WiFi analyzer app. Walk corner to corner and take a survey of your signal levels, then adjust accordingly.
