Feature Request: Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for VPN Users in Route-10

Dear Team,

We would like to request the implementation of Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) support for VPN users in Route-10.

Currently, many customers are demanding an additional security layer for remote VPN access to enhance protection against unauthorized login attempts and credential compromise. This requirement has become increasingly common across enterprise deployments.

The requested feature should support one or more of the following authentication methods:

  • SMS-based OTP

  • Email-based OTP

  • Authenticator App OTP (TOTP)

  • Push-based MFA integration

This functionality is already available in solutions such as Fortinet FortiGate VPN, and several of our customers have specifically raised similar requirements while evaluating or deploying Route-10 solutions.

Expected benefits:

  • Improved VPN security

  • Better compliance with customer security policies

  • Reduced risk of credential misuse

  • Increased competitiveness against other firewall/VPN vendors

This feature would be highly beneficial for organizations providing Work From Home (WFH) or remote access connectivity to users.
