Would love to see some “family management” capabilities. Google Nest WiFi products do this fairly well. Shouldn’t apply to wireless clients but also wired. Here are some basic features to get this out the door and advanced.
Basic
- Able to group clients into logical groups (device 1 + device 2 = “Johns devices”)
- Able to turn off internet access (not local access) to devices and/or logical groups
Advanced
- Able to set timed limits of internet access for devices and/or logical groups
- Devices can belong into multiple logical groups
- Timed limits can be set as amount of time per day/week with granular control for specific days (1hr per day except Sat/Sun 2hrs)
- Content restrictions
- Able to extend limits through app if requested

You can do most of this already, except for the client groups.
So you just have to go under settings >> wifi >> schedule. You can also set it so people can request more time during downtime. under settings and filters you can filter for content groups or do specific sites.
And instead of grouping devices you just go to each device you dont want on the schedule and hit bypass schedule.
Thanks for this. Does this apply only to WiFi clients? Would need this for wired network as well. Do I need to have Alta APs for it work?

Ah my bad, looks like scheduling only works on the wireless with the aps. But if you dont have those you can still use the content filtering. That should stop wired and if you use a different brand ap should stop on there too.
