Hi I hope someone in Alta can help.
During the upgrade of the switches to Release 2.3i I received the following error message fwcheck error 252 and then it says try again. After several trials it is still the same.
I read the post regarding same error on AP6 but I am not home for now and can not do a manual reset.
So if there is any possibility for @Alta-Matt_v2 or @Alta-MikeD to assist remotely I will send an invite.
I’ll DM you my email to invite to the site and I’ll take a look.
Definitely something strange going on with that S8. It’s important to note that it’s still functioning, passing traffic, etc. It does start to talk to the cloud but never fully registers.
I can’t seem to keep it in an online state. The S24 can see it and I’m able to ping it. I’m seeing odd bursts of over 1 second of latency (even saw >2s once) then it comes back down to sub 1ms.
I think a powercycle is the next best step. Give me a ping whenever you have the chance to do that and I will jump back in and take a look. No rush since it’s still functional.
Hi @Alta-Matt_v2 I asked my staff to unplug the power and wait for 10 second and then power up again.
That has been done and now the S8 is status not connected.
How to factory reset the S8 so I can explain to my staff how to do that.
I guess there was some strange issues before and maybe it helps to do a factory reset.
In this case, I would do a Power in Reset.
- Unplug power to the S8
- Press and hold the reset button
- Plug power back in while holding the reset button
- Once the Alta logo on top lights up (approx 5 seconds), release the reset button
- You’ll get a light show for 1-2 minutes and the LED will settle in on solid white
- Click the Set Up button in the controller
