I have a windows 11 notebook that periodocally looses the ability to obtain an IP address from the DHCP server. The WiFi lan adapter then reverts back to a 169.254.x.x APIPA address.
If I reboot the access points (not the router, not the switch, all I have to reboot is the APs) then I can obtain a lease.
I have not tested that yet. It has happened twice on this device. It seems like my wireless cameras are all on line then. It did not happen with the previous access point with this device (an Archer A7 AC1750).
Rebooting the AP is the only thing that has worked, but I have to reboot both APs or the laptop just switches over to the other and still has the same issue. I have the evaluation kit so I’m using a route10, the 8port switch, and ap6 pro and ap6. Other than Optimum router, everything else is Alta.
Yes, the Optimum router is the ISP on WAN1. I am going to change over to bridge mode. I don’t use their router at all.
The “forget” is a great suggestion and I have tried that. When replacing the old AP with the Alta equipment I used the same SSID. Could be something related to that.
