DHCP client hostname

Hi Alta Team,

My AP’s are doing an DHCP request using the “Alta” hostname.
It would be very nice if the DHCP request would be the Device name, or at least include the device name.
This is something that all other brands do.

For big setups, i always use DHCP on my management vlans.
It i find it really easy that I can recognize equipment, without have to cross-check the MAC :slight_smile:

Yes, this is planned in a future firmware release.

Yes please. Despite the acknowledgement… I wanted to upvote this and say how absolutely crucial this is for enterprise deployments where the installer can document MAC address and location and then the engineer can associate those devices properly.
