Device connectivity to Cloud

Hi all, have 2 Alta 8 Port switches and 2 Alta AP6 Pros connected to each switch.

Here is a summary of my physical topology:

Switch 1 Port 1 - Connected to Uplink (Device is a router)
Switch 1 Port 2 - Connected to AP1
Switch 1 Port 3 - Connected to AP2
Switch 1 Port 8 - Connected to Switch 2 and used as Uplink for Switch 2

Switch 2 Port 1 - Connected to Switch 1 Port 8
Switch 2 Port 2 - Connected to AP3
Switch 2 Port 3 - Connected to AP4

Here are my network details:

VLAN2 - Guest Network
VLAN3 - Device Mgmt VLAN
VLAN4 - Guest 2 Network
VLAN10 - Internal Network

SSID1 - Internal Network
SSID2 - Guest Network
SSID3 - Guest 2 Network

All MGMT VLAN on my switches and APs have been set to VLAN3.

On Global Switch Config I have also allowed VLAN 2,3,4 & 10 as well.

In switch 1 switch port configuration:

Port 1: Native VLAN3, Allowed VLANs 2,4,10
Port 2: Native VLAN3, Allowed VLANs 2,4,10
Port 3: Native VLAN3, Allowed VLANs 2,4,10
Port 8: Native VLAN3, Allowed VLANs 2,4,10

Switch 2 Switch port Configuration:
Port 1: Native VLAN3, Allowed VLANs 2,4,10
Port 2: Native VLAN3, Allowed VLANs 2,4,10
Port 3: Native VLAN3, Allowed VLANs 2,4,10

The issue i’m facing now is that services are up and all 3 of my SSIDs are all able to be broadcasted and I’m able to access the internet when connected to it. However, on the controller, all my devices are showing offline. What could possibly be the issue?

Are you using any type of filtering at the DNS level? Can you check to confirm that the APs and switches are getting IP addresses in the DHCP pool that corresponds to the respective VLANs?

Hi Matt, I’ve confirmed that this was cause of a DNS issue and have managed to solve it. On a side note, would like to check if you know for 802.1x, does the Alta AP or the controller communicate to my radius server?

From what I have seen, everything seems to be done on device and the cloud controller is just managing settings.

@MichaelMuni is correct, the AP and the RADIUS server communicate directly.
