Looks like my 8-port POE switch crashed and rebooted, causing all my APs to also go offline and reboot. Are there any logs I can access (or send to support) to determine the root cause?
Most likely the logs are unavailable for this specific instance.
However, you can enable persistent logging with:
touch /cfg/.persistent.log
via ssh or the terminal in manage.alta.inc; then reboot the device.
You can then scp the logs from /cfg/messages*
if this happens again.
Any downside / performance impact on enabling that? Any reason it is disabled by default?
It just uses more of the flash, typically unnecessarily, so we leave it off by default.
