Would it be possible to include OpenVPN support in future firmware updates as well?
OpenVPN would provide broader compatibility with many services and devices, and it would be especially useful for users who rely on OpenVPN configurations from providers like NordVPN. Thanks
I was told back in June that they were working on this and it would be 1 to 2 months. It’s been over 2 months and it still isn’t available. I’ll hazard a guess that they are working on it and that it will be available at some point, however, it’s not a priority for them right now.
The OpenVPN binary is already in Route10 but there’s no UI and PBR for it yet. If you want to go the cli path you can use my script. It’s somewhere in the forum, try searching OpenVPN.
Don’t take this personal but why on gods earth would you want OpenVPN? Totally understand your compatibility request, but its a nightmare to manage - security wise. Most enterprise security solutions are deprecating support for SSL Based VPNs due to the copious flaws around OpenSSL. Palo, Fortinet. Many VPN providers are migrating to WG now…that’s the direction I’d recommend.
