Resolve issue with setting up Alta devices on controllers behind reverse proxy.
This update is being rolled out now. You can manually initiate the upgrade if you’d like, or it will automatically update overnight. Here is the full running changelog:
If you have any questions let us know, and as usual if you notice anything please feel free to reply here, or create a new topic, including the details of the issue encountered. Thanks!
@Alta-MikeD Hi Mike, I am grateful for all the improvements; however, I need your help. I am seeing new icons for the AP6-Pro, Route10, and S8-POE, but not the Control icon.
How can I get this to work? Can you help?
Additionally, why am I seeing Control in the Devices section rather than the Network section? Is this normal?
It would be a cleaner look and feel to have all Alta devices under Network with the appropriate icon, don’t you think?
Sorry for the delay. We do have plans for both, although we don’t have a timeline to share yet.
At the moment, Control appears in the Devices section rather than Network. We agree this creates an inconsistency, since Control is currently the only Alta product that doesn’t appear alongside the rest of the Alta infrastructure products.
We’re planning to address both the lack of a dedicated Control icon and Control’s presentation within the controller, though we don’t have an ETA for either change at this time.
Grateful for your reply.
I am sure you will agree that perception affects perspective. I am not alone on this matter and I have ask about this in many episodes ALL, and connot see why low priority is being placed on the UX/UI to the UI reflect device accuracy in the Ntwork and Device tabs
The devil is in the details and we have waited for a long, fixing these issues reflects that Alta care s about quality and polish for the UX/UI. So, can we make it a priority?
The little details creates the impression of polish and completeness. These quirks should have be sorted from day
Based on our rapid release cadence, things will likely be very different then. Have you checked out some of our latest features for schedule profiles and scheduled filters?
Sorry, the reason why we haven’t done that yet is because it’s not as quick or as easy as you may believe, and technically it is just another client on the network - honestly it could go both ways - network or devices; perhaps we make it an option when we do implement that? We’re happy to take a look at any other issues you may be having, though.
