Control 1.1o Released! (cloud & on-premises)

This release introduces new routing and security controls, expands Wi-Fi configuration options, and improves stability across multi-WAN and multi-site deployments.

  • Route10: Add support for blocking regions and/or sites based on malicious IP lists.
  • Route10: Add VLAN acceleration option, for sites with more than 5 VLANs.
  • WiFi: Add option to transmit name within AP beacons (cloud, will be available for local from 1.1p).
  • Resolve issues with load-balancing with more than 2 WANs.
  • Resolve issue with restoring from backup where the first handful of configuration changes fails.
  • Resolve issues with sharing connection profiles across multiple sites.

Special Note:

The Alta Labs apt repository (used for Control software distribution) key has expired on January 10, 2026, necessitating a key extension for all Control devices, hardware and software. Nearly all keys have already been extended automatically, so most users do not require any further action. However, if your controller does not generally have Internet access, it may require a manual update of the apt key, using this command as the root user:

curl -o /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/apt.alta.inc.gpg https://dl.alta.inc/do-not-distribute/apt.alta.inc.gpg

This update is being rolled out now. You can manually initiate the upgrade if you’d like, or it will automatically update overnight. Here is the full running changelog:

If you have any questions let us know, and as usual if you notice anything please feel free to reply here, or create a new topic, including the details of the issue encountered. Thanks!

Update on my local hardware controller went smoothly but I’m not seeing the “Transmit AP Name in Beacons” option like I do on the cloud controller. Tried clearing my browser cache, tried Safari and Firefox, but still not seeing it.

The update has been pulled. It has been 24 hours.

We’ll have a hotfix release to address this. I’ll update the various notes to indicate that it 's currently cloud only. We hope to have 1.1p available later today.

I just added special note to the original post, and will update the other posts. But I did want to highlight the additional information. Our GPG key recently expired, but almost all Control instances were automatically upgraded to the new key.

There is a very small subset of users who will require to manually upgrade the key which either requires SSH access (help center article HERE), or backing up, resetting their Control, and restoring afterwards.

Please see the special note HERE for more details.

EDIT: a related help center article was created, too. found HERE.
