I recently got a new 1.6Gbps service, and adjusted my rate-limiting settings accordingly. When I had 900Mbps I had the download rate set to approx 800Mbps and got very close to 800Mbps. When I do speed tests set at 1500Mbps I’m getting about 850Mbps. I have rebooted my ONT and also my Route10, and have acceleration disabled, but still maxing out at 800 not close to 1.5Gbps I have set. Any ideas?
I have the exact same issue. I’m on 1.6gbps down and 120mbps up. Max I can achieve with cake on the downstream is 800mbps. If I disable hardware acceleration it’s a bit more. CPU usage in the management platform shows roughly 40%. I have a pppoe connection so not sure if this is a pppoe limitation. Also cake is single threaded and only runs on one cpu core so the 40% utilisation may not be accurate. Cake may well be maxing out a single core. I need to check with htop to confirm this though. Also as of openwrt 25.12 cake now supports multiple cpu cores. Would be nice to see this added to the Route10 if possible.
Is that from Route10 speedtest or downstream client? And if client, wired or wireless and through which path? I have seen a drop in download speed in speedtest from clients, but from Route10 it is fine.
I have tried speedtest from the console on Route10. Also from the control speedtest and also from a speedtest docker image on my server, which is directly attached to my Route10. All give similar results not even close to the 1500Mbps, was fine sub 1000Mbps but over that seems to cap out at around 800 - 850Mbps
