Assign 2.4 ghz to a mobile device

Hi,

To set up an IOT device by matter I need to have a mobile assigend to the 2.4 ghz spectrum. I was wondering if there is a option to do that in online controler.

I could make a new WIFI ssid, but that seems a bit to much trouble. And then I’m not sure if I can transfer the IOT device back to the main SSID.

If I’m understanding right, the IOT device and you mobile phone need to be on the 2.4GHz band to communicate? If that’s right then I don’t think there’s a way to manually assign a device to a specific band, but perhaps you could set the SSID to only broadcast on 2.4GHz tempoarily? That should definitely be doable. Unless I’m totally off base :sweat_smile:

Thanks for the quick response. That could be an idea. I totally forgot that option. Then afterwards I can set it back to both signals.

It works like a charm. Did the connection and set wifi settings back to original and still everything’s working.
