Talked to Dallin about this yesterday during a meeting. Seems that its in the works.
Don’t want it to be forgotten.
Publish API docs so we can controle Devices from API for more central management in own tools etc.
Also provide stats and integrate with external Hotspot manager.
Please remember to vote early and vote often!

Any updates (that can be shared) about API access?
I would love to be able to turn on/off applications on the DPI engine; and maybe be able to create a HomeAssistant integration for scheduling and other automations.
Hello,
can we generate voucher for hotspot on the fly with the api ?
thanks
I suppose this could be done with altapass - is this what you’re looking for?
I’ve been lurking and don’t have an alta setup yet, @kayvanaarssen @erpn7 do you have alta setups and are willing to assist with development & testing? I’m working on go/rust/python implementations at the moment and am nearly feature complete.
@mikeee … I sent you a DM.
if i can create and delete with the api using altapass, that could be a solution ![]()
but can the same ssid use multiple password ? thanks
That does look like the case - Alta Pass
I can use the API to create/read/update/delete wifi networks including the settings for each password like UL/DL and so on.
Not sure the alta UI in its current form is best to manage a ridiculous number of passwords though. Neither is the backend - I’m given a pair of passwords mapped to their respective network and no way to label a password with any sort of use-descriptor. e.g. Guest - Password
If using the API I’d probably recommend an external method of managing what passwords you currently are using with a bit more description. I’ll make sure to document that.
Do we have any ideas when the gear might be available via API? I’d like to start working on integration with other systems.
I’m giving this a bump, would love to be able to do things through Home Assistant, ie block/unblock internet for specific devices,
I’m not 100% on it, but I could swear I read or heard in a live stream that they have an API but it’s not publicly available and requires reaching out directly to Alta for access to it. Hopefully someone from the team can swing in and confirm if I’m crazy or not ![]()
Yes, that is correct, we offer API documentation for anyone that is under NDA with us (which is a relatively painless process IMO). We are considering opening it up publicly, but aren’t quite ready for that, yet.
hello, i need more info about api ! thanks
What’s the process for this please @Alta-Jeff ?
I’ll reach out directly.
