AP 2.0a Firmware Released!

Moved to 2.0b, things seem to be a lot more stable with the exception of a Meross Outdoor Plug and Meross garage door opener. Both devices are still connecting and dropping immediately.

@JRosen Can you see anything in the messages log?

tail -f /var/log/messages

@WhyAydan Yes, I am seeing this error for both devices.

Dec 22 11:20:26 OpenWrt daemon.err hostapd: no such r0 nor r1

This is for debugging and weā€™ll clean this up, but this message is primarily for fast-roaming. If you donā€™t have that enabled we can ignore it. If you have fast-roaming enabled, and youā€™re seeing other issues, we can troubleshoot in a new thread.

Currently using a single AP6 and connections are dropping as the f/w is bouncing between 2.0a and 2.0b.

Hi can you clarify what you mean by ā€œbouncingā€ between the versions?

Sure. When checked it shows 2.0a. Currently it shows 2.0b with an available upgrade. Iā€™ve selected the upgrade option once before thinking it would go to 2.0c, but it went back to 2.0a. And now it is back to 2.0b (auto update?).

I selected to update, and after a brief outage, it shows the Version at 2.0a again.

AP is back to 2.0b and alerting to an available update (again).
Any thoughts?

The availability of updates can be influenced from client side, so my first guess would be a local caching issue with your browser. I recommend checking private/incognito mode, but we can verify it if you wish to invite one of us.

@howie Thanks for the note. If you have downloaded 2.0b, will you let us know if that resolved your dropped wifi issues?

The management page while Incognito shows the AP at 2.0b and does not offer to update. Refreshed the original page (not ingocnito) and the f/w update notice is no longer present. So good catch on caching!

Iā€™ll update after some time has passed regarding wifi dropping. Feel free to take a peek (bcb92301ff64).

While not expected to happen in the first place, Iā€™m glad it was an easy explanation. It shouldnā€™t be something that frequently reoccurs, so if you clear just the cache, and it is frequent after that, then please let us know.

I donā€™t have a way of just looking at it, usually we would ask to be temporarily invited to the site, and then look at it from there. Please let us know your experience. We are testing a new build, which may help with disconnects experienced by some users.

Just an FYI for anyone following this thread, weā€™ve just pushed out 2.0c which fixes some issues. Can you keep an eye on it and if you see anything specific create a new thread for it so we can take a look?

Thanks!

Got the 2.0c update!
There was also a notice of an available update, and as before, refreshing the page cleared the update notice. AP6 still at 2.0c.

2.0c has solved my problem with IoT devices bouncing on and off the Vlan network.

Thanks guys!
