My Bluetooth on Android 14 automatically disables when its not being used.
Therefore every time I open the Alta app it asks me to enable Bluetooth even though its only necessary, when you want to set up a new device (as far as I understand). When I press on deny it will ask me indefinitely times in the app again to allow Bluetooth when I switch between the dashboard and network tab.
It is quite annoying to press deny every time you start the app or change between the tabs.
Is there a way to disable this?
That’s a great question and, to be honest, I don’t know. I will inquire with the developers.
When it comes to permissions like that, I believe it’s a mandatory binary, i.e. the app either does or does not ask for permission to enable Bluetooth and that must be set as a requirement in the Play Store as part of the permissions.
I’ll reply here when I know more.
I wonder if its possible that a single deny will prevent any further BT popups until the next start of the app.
Hi @bsdmonster we recently pushed an update to the Android app that is intended to do just that. In my testing, I was prompted, tapped deny, and was able to browse around the app for 10+ minutes without being prompted again. I’m interested to see if that app update fully solves the issue for you.
I did not receive an update yet. Does it need time to propagate in the Play Store?
It’s still in beta. If you like, I can share a link that will allow you to test the fix? It’s always good to have the original reporter test the fix whenever reasonably possible.
Yes, i would love to test the beta. Please send me the link.
Just sent you a DM with the link.
