I have 3 AP6 Pro’s and adding a 4th AP6 which will be meshed. Will my single SSID with altapass still work on the meshed AP or will the vlan tagging failback to default vlan1? The rest of the AP’s are connected via switch with ethernet backhaul.
I had an AP setup like this a while back and as I recall AltaPass worked fine with the meshed AP. It eventually ended up getting a wire run to it, but that didn’t have anything to do with AltaPass

Indeed, AltaPass will work over a mesh connection.
The bigger question would be VLANs. While meshed APs pass VLANs as well, you mentioned a switch in the mix. Is it an Alta switch? If not, is it a managed switch?
