Alta Devices Showing Offline/Disconnected

Alta AP’s are showing offline/disconnected even though they are working just fine. I have checked the mobile app several times and after waiting some time they seem to show properly. Even logging in on the webpage shows the same results. There is some Cloud Key from another company on site, IYKYK. Could this be causing the issue? Performance is great and throughput is not lost even when showing disconnected in the app or webpage.

Welcome to the community @Brockoli_Cheese ! And great name!

The Alta AP’s and switches will continue to function normally if the internet connection is severed by default. Them going “offline” is simply them not being able to communicate with our cloud. So they’re going offline and coming back on their own? How many total Alta devices are on this site?

Thanks for the reply. I probably should have done a better job of my explaining in my post. I ordered a starter kit which was 2x AP6 which are installed at the location. The S8-POE seemed to have the same issue and I pulled it to bring back and test it. It still doesn’t seem to be working but that is another topic for another thread. Could the Cloud Key that is there be causing and issue. Maybe duplicate ports or issues with data being sent to the cloud?

The CloudKey from the U company shouldn’t cause an issue.

We can continue working on the S8-PoE in this thread if you like, no biggie. If the switch is the root of the issue, it would be good to swap the cable that’s feeding it if possible just to rule that out. Presumably everything between the router and the switch (if there is anything between them) is working fine? No drops in internet or speed issues?

I brought the switch back to the office and didn’t leave it installed at the customer site. i have done couple resets and I am now able to set it up under another site. I have it in a test environment with other U company gear, with a locally hosted controller. That problem seems to have resolved itself for the moment. I can understand the loss of internet being the issue for the customer as it is a cable connection seems to be very unstable.

At the customer location there is the ISP Modem/Router Combo → Building Bridge → PoE Switch (hopefully able to swap in the S8-POE) → both APs.
