I am testing a possible migration from Aruba
InstantOn to Alta. Have been playing and reading about AP6-Pro and an S8-POE. So far easy installation. Nice management UX.
Question on devices associated to the switch (wired devices) and IPs. Whereas my AP shows the wireless devices count and their IP info, type, etc, the Switch doesn’t show a devices count and no IPs (with the exception of my upstream Firewall/Router. All are DHCP based devices.
I read that this wasn’t supported, but then was added. I’m on the latest firmware. Am I missing something?
Is everything wired through the S8 or do you have other switches?
Anything connected to my S8 switches shows IPs but my main Aruba switch which I haven’t swapped out yet for Alta Labs only shows the devices and not the IPs.
@lb-alta Welcome to the community! Great to have you here. Also, thanks for giving us a shot!
Based on your screenshots it looks like you’re using our mobile app. Our mobile dev team is working hard to bring IP addresses in on hardwired devices to our switches as soon as possible. At present they’re not available.
If you don’t mind jumping on the web interface (manage.alta.inc) you will see IP address for wired devices.
Please take a look and let us know if you have any more questions!
@lb-alta Ah. I see. I missed the count request as well. That is not something we have currently, but its on our roadmap. Does not having a connected device count available for our switches keep you from wanting to migrate to Alta Labs? Or is knowing that its something we are working on and will have out soon sufficient?
