# Switch Firmware 2.3w Released!

- Add support for ICMP monitoring, per-port

**This update is being rolled out now.** You can manually initiate the upgrade if you’d like, or it will automatically update overnight (if auto-updates are enabled). The complete, up-to-date changelog is available here:

I must have a case of the Fridays… I cannot figure out what this feature is. Can someone give me a quick overview?

Ping watchdog is probably the better known terminology.

Specify an IP that’s fixed (static or by DHCP reservation) and if that host is unreachable, the port is cycled

Thank you. I assume this isn’t on local controller yet, which is probably why I couldn’t find anything related to it on my system.

That’s correct, it will need a controller update. Likely next week.
