Sorry to bother but happen to have any idea when you’ll have domain based routing over VPN out? That is the reason I’ve been holding off. I used Alta for a while and I really liked it but missing that made certain aspects of my network difficult as I route certain sites over a VPN across the whole network. I currently use an asus AXE16000 with merlin and a script called domain_vpn_routing to do it but I’d prefer to have something more straight forward like alta and start building out that direction instead.
No need to apologize. We will have support for this later this year! We want to make sure it functions as good as possible, understanding that it will never be perfect with as many shared IPs are being used by content delivery networks (CDNs).
The domain_vpn_routing script I uses basically creates a cron job that updates the list of ips for each domain every I believe 10 minutes and then routes them over that. It uses I think it is called “digg” to get all available IPs for that particular domain. It’s a pretty neat little script.
