I have a Winix C545 air purifier that after the most recent AP firmware update is constantly disconnecting. It will be online for a moment, and then drop off.

Logs from Alta devices show this device as making an absolute ton of DHCP requests, over 1000 in the last 6 hours.

My site is on a local controller with no public access.

Please invite me to your site, and I can take a look at the logs. I also have a Winix air purifier here that I will test again.

It will take me a bit, my site is not public facing, but I can make it so for a bit. I will update and send an invite shortly.

I’m going to switch both APs to the same 2 GHz channel so that I can sniff from one to the other to try to understand why the C545 keeps disconnecting.

I have a C545 here, with AP firmware 3.0t, and I’ve tried untagged and tagged VLANs, and cannot reproduce any problems whatsoever.

I have a TP Link light switch doing the same thing. Last log entry before disconnect:

“kernel: [66438.255553] wlan: [0:E:NSS] [nss-wifili]:vlan\_id set failed with error=99 peer:42 vlan\_id:20”

The light switch having issues is physically about 1 m away from the bonus AP

I’m new to these APs but I have some Tuya smart devices that won’t connect even on a dedicated 2.4ghz ssid with wpa3 off.

How can I capture and debug them trying to connect and see why it’s failing please?

Hi Jeff, thank you for taking a look. After further testing, it appears that anytime the AP reboots, the constant disconnects start with this single Kasa switch. I can go into the device settings and manually set it to the same profile that is already being applied to the SSID it is connecting to and the Kasa switch stabilizes. Also, if the profile is already set at the device level and the AP reboots, I also get constant disconnects. I have to remove the device level profile, wait a short time, then re-apply the profile at the device level. The Kasa switch stabilizes again.

Does that make any sense what so ever as to why that might be happening? I would think I should not have to apply a same profile at the device level.

What MAC are you applying a profile to? You’re referring to a Device profile within Alta, right?

Is it OK if I go ahead and try to reproduce this a few times by rebooting the AP, and re-setting the profile?
